City Varieties has an exciting mixed programme of music performances coming up, from folk and country to pop and rock; showcasing voice, guitar and some of the best talent in the business.
Saturday 18 May 2019 – Albert Lee and Band
British-born Albert Lee is a double Grammy Award winner who combines the talents of sublime guitarist, accomplished piano player and skilled vocalist. His repertoire covers the genres of both country and rock n roll.

Friday 24 May 2019 – Thea Gilmore
Talented lyricist, winner of BBC Radio 2’s Young Folk Award 2013 and folk favourite of Bruce Springsteen, Thea will release her collection of songs, Small World Turning, on 17 May. She’ll be supported at CVMH by Matt Owens.
Saturday 29 & Sunday 30 June 2019 – Les Musicals
The joint forces of Jonathan Ansell (G4 Frontman) and Jai McDowall (Britain’s Got Talent winner) have created a concert comprised of hit songs from some of the greatest musicals through generations, such as Les Miserables, Jesus Christ Superstar, Blood Brothers and Phantom of The Opera.

Friday 6 September 2019 -The Story of Guitar Heroes
This awe-inspiring and dynamic show, presented by Phil Walker, will take you on a journey from the 1950’s (Chuck Berry and Hank Marvin) to Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page, through to Brian May and Steve Vai.
Over 30 guitars will be used to create the sound of each of these guitar heroes, accompanied by video of some historical moments, enhanced by state-of-the-art lighting.
