Leeds Lit Fest 2020 – Calling Writers, Performers and Speakers

Leeds Lit Fest took place in March 2019.  It was a first for Leeds Lit Fest and the first of its kind in Leeds.  Following its great success, it returns on 4 to 8 March 2020.

The Leeds Lit Fest will be commissioning and curating events once more, and in addition, the team is inviting people to submit their own ideas and incorporate as many of these as they can.  Ideas are encouraged for events for children, panel discussions, live performance, workshops, podcasts, storytelling, talks, lectures and debates.

If you’re an organiser who is interested in running an event, then here is what to do:

1.      Open the LLF Event Submission form

2.      Answer the questions, which ask how you’ll ticket, stage and promote your event

3.      Fill out and submit the form by Sunday November 3.

The aim of the Festival is ‘to champion literature, writing and spoken word in Leeds, developing a festival that is distinctive, exciting and challenging’.  Alongside this, the aim is to introduce new audiences to the written and spoken word events and to attract new writers to the City.

Carl Hutton, Chair of Leeds Lit Fest said: “Leeds Lit Fest is run by a partnership of arts organisations in the City and a team of volunteers and we are looking at new ways in which the Festival can engage with the City. We want to encourage as many people as possible to submit their ideas for the 2020 programme. We want the programme to be creative, exciting, interesting and diverse so that we can build on the success of this year’s Festival and truly reflect the literature community both within the City and beyond. Anyone with a good idea should apply. There are no barriers and the application process is really straightforward.”
