On Stage Productions is Looking for a Little Yorkshire Star

The search is on for children of ages 4, 5 and 6 to be part of On Stage Productions pantomime, Dick Whittington and His Cat.

The pantomime will be staged at the much loved Leeds City Varieties Music Hall in November and talented youngsters are sought to be a part of the juvenile chorus.

Co-Founder and Principal Liz Coggins is keen for children to join the principal actors, all of whom are adults with professional experience.

They will get the chance to experience rehearsals, take  part in training and special pantomime workshops to enhance their performance skills – all alongside industry professionals.”

Dale Ibbetson is playing Idle Jack for the fifth year and is regular comic in professional pantomimes throughout the North of England.

Eloise Peniston is Principal Boy.  She joined On Stage Academy when she was just 5 years old, is in her final year at drama school and on the staff of On Stage as a trainee teacher.

“On Stage Productions was co-founded by the late Chris Fox – one of the most renowned Pantomime Dames in the country,” said Liz.

“He started his extensive theatrical career as a child and believed that a young person’s first experience of theatre should be a magical one. He also believed in Pantomime as an art form, and as a company we still embody those ethics today.”

Rehearsals begin at The Carriageworks Theatre in Leeds City Centre in early October, although the frequency may increase closer to the live performances at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on 10 November.
