If you favour the notion of a community-run farm, then you might want to consider contributing to the Kirkstall Valley Development Trust crowdfunder:
UPDATE: £11,421 has been pledged, leaving £8,579 to raise by 31 January 2020 at 10 p.m.

The farm is a 16 acre property situated north of Cardigan Fields, which has been farmed since the mid-twentieth century, although the last tenant farmer died in 2017. The Trust has been offered the lease by the Council to make the farm a social and educational centre for the area. The intention is also to supply fresh vegetables to the local community via a veg box scheme.
The money raised will buy equipment and ensure storage is constructed, as well as polytunnels. There will also be a social area. A grower will be appointed in 2020 and a team of volunteers is being put together
