The Leeds Women’s Hub………………Promoting a Women Friendly Leeds

The Leeds Women’s Hub has been working on a city-wide project that will promote and celebrate women’s rights and opportunities in Leeds.

In a first for the UK, the Hub launched just over a year ago to give women living and working in Leeds the opportunity to influence decision-making in the City.   Women Friendly Leeds will bring together businesses, organisations and individuals to support women and girls to be empowered to participate in decision-making that enables them to lead safe, happy and healthy lives.

Women’s Lives Leeds, who co-ordinate the Hub, is collaborating with local designer Helen Barlow-Scott at One Line Design to develop a brand for Women Friendly Leeds and for the Leeds Women and Girls Hub.  Aware that a broad voice is needed,  women and girls across the City are being invited to contribute ideas, and two sessions have been organised just for this purpose.  Camille Thomas, who is running both sessions, believes that those who are being spoken for should also have the opportunity to speak for themselves.

Designer Helen Barlow-Scott is pleased to glean ideas from Leeds women and girls, to be assured that they can identify with the outcome of the branding project.
