Porterhouse Cake Co. – Kickstarting Expansion

Liz Richardson has been supplying local business with cakes from her home kitchen for two years.  You may have sampled and enjoyed some of her creations at Eat North, Leeds Feast, Laynes Espresso or the Belgrave Feast.

Liz supplies launch parties, weddings and other events in Leeds and is now looking to expand, both in terms of geographical spread and premises, so she has acquired a unit at Armley Link, currently a bare space in need of decorating, improved plumbing, equipment and a glass frontage.

She is hoping to be able to invite visitors there for private events, parties and bakery days.  Several cafes are waiting to place orders in Leeds and more widely in Yorkshire, hence the Kickstarter campaign.  The campaign will run throughout February, aiming to raise £10,000 towards the improvements, together with a delivery vehicle and staffing.

Rewards for funders include cakes and brownies, baking workshops and launch party tickets and even a celebration cake or two!

The Empty Space

Liz said “What I really want is for people across Leeds to have the option of choosing locally-made, great-tasting and out-of-the-ordinary cakes as opposed to the monotony of big brands; and I want as many local businesses to benefit from my expansion as possible.”
