Located conveniently at Park Place right in the heart of Leeds’ Financial Quarter and serving bright and early at 8.00 am, Burgundy offers the perfect place to drop by for a rich buttery croissant as part of a continental breakfast right before a hard day’s work. Their morning menu includes a varied selection of freshly baked pastries, cereals, cheeses and meat, bread and jams and fruit along with juices, teas and coffees to wash down a hearty breakfast.
Snugly set in a basement a few steps below street level, its warm dimly lit interior is both charming and relaxing. Their homey red and white checked tablecloths, classic maps of beautiful Burgundy adorning the walls and the soft background music all speak of ‘Bourguignon’ and a warmth which instantly pulls at your heartstrings.
Whether it’s Boeuf Bourguignon or Ratatouille served with Parisian baguette, minute steak served with pan roast shallots and pommes frites, or Chablis ham served with green salad, you’re sure to enjoy a spectacular Burgundy style lunch. Served from 11:30 am their plats du jour (daily specials) are all accompanied by a glass of Burgundian wine, a soft drink or Badoit water for just £10. A weekly rotating menu makes the dishes at Burgundy all the more unique.
Alternatively, drop by at the Burgundy after work as they begin to serve their assortments of meat and cheese to complement their wines and drinks from 3.00 pm onwards. Mainly Burgundian but all distinctively French, their wines are of a wide and varied choice and are sourced from Louis Latour. Burgundy is also home to a range of French and Belgian beers that perfectly complement their style and cuisine.
Open daily on weekdays till 8.00 pm and on Fridays till 11.00 pm Burgundy is closed to the public on weekends, largely since they are located in the financial district and their main clientele will not be around. This, however, makes Burgundy a fantastic retreat for birthdays and other special celebrations away from areas of the city that are busier on weekends as it will be available for events and private bookings.
