Final alt-J support act announced for First Direct Arena gig
Ghostpoet will complete the line up for the much-anticipated alt-J gig this December. It was confirmed this morning that he will join fellow support act The Horrors who were announced earlier this year, to warm up the stage for the lauded band on December the 6th.

Final support announced for alt-J First Direct Arena gig

Ghostpoet’s latest album Shedding Skin was touted as one of this years Mercury prize nominees, sharing another more figurative arena with previous winners alt-J whose debut album An Awesome Wave realised the accolade in 2012. Shedding Skin marks a change of direction from Ghostpoet, who has roots in grime collectives, introducing largely guitar led tracks and a collaboration with Maximo Park vocalist Paul Smith on the album. alt-J’s Thom Green also paid recent homage to Ghostpoet with a remix of single ‘Off Peak Dreams’ indicating their mutual respect. Alongside Ghostpoet’s drowsy beats, The Horrors will also play a synth drenched set. Coming a long way from their gothic teen phase, they have matured into their 2015 shoegaze/pop semblance with anthemic numbers like ‘Still Life’ justifying their arena presence. And of course, headliners alt-J mark the main event, garnering a relentless following since their first album made everyone’s ears prick up. Following with 2014’s This is All Yours and an arena tour the band continue their awesome wave of success.

Leeds Living are giving away 2 tickets to see alt-J, The Horrors and Ghostpoet so if you’ve got your eyes on the prize, look out on Facebook and Twitter for details.
