Self-labelled as pansexual and agender, Angel Haze received much coverage throughout 2015 for their progressive views on gender, sexuality and the boundaries existing within the music industry.

Self-released last September, in a year that involved a highly publicised break-up, addiction, and mental-health problems, Back to the Woods tackled these issues head on. It followed the acclaimed but commercially unsuccessful Dirty Gold, leaked by Haze after disputes with their label Republic over their unwanted interference.

The album was produced entirely by the upcoming and highly talented TK Kayembe, whose well structured, heavy-fire beats switch between the dark, aggressive and sensitive moments invoked by Haze's lyrics in a partnership of well considered cohesion, peaking in lead single 'Moonrise Kingdom'.
