Charlie Cunningham released his second album, Permanent Way, on 7 June this year and one particular track to mark the occasion, Don’t Go Far, which you can listen to here. Said to capture the ‘deftest melody and the deepest emotion’, Don’t Go Far combines agile guitar with distinctive melody.
Charlie has now unveiled the video for Headlights, taken from the album. You can watch the video here.
Second albums are notoriously difficult, but Charlie Cunningham has met the challenge, retaining his personable appeal whilst vocalising life’s uncertainties – the need for closeness and affection as well as distance and autonomy.
“I’m quite a private person outside of performing,” he admits. “There is some autobiographical stuff in the lyrics, but it flits in and out quite a lot; it’s much more about people generally and their interactions.”
