Opera North in the City – a week-end festival

Opera North is set to deliver a first ever to Leeds and Yorkshire as the climax to their Opera North in the City festival.  Read on!

On Friday 27 July at 6.30 p.m. with the live performance beginning at 8, Opera North’s orchestra brings you the Symphonic Sounds of Back to Basics, with dance anthems as you may never have heard them before!  This performance is for over 14s and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Saturday 28 July at 7 p.m. will delight lovers of ‘blockbusters and big-hitting arias’ from the Orchestra of Opera North and their Classic Summer’s Evening.

The finale to the week-end’s entertainment is provided by Opera North together with the Grimethorpe Colliery Band, who will perform the first ever live soundtrack to Brassed Off in Millennium Square, Yorkshire’s first live concert screening of the film.   Tickets are selling very quickly for this Sunday 29 July performance which begins at 5 p.m.
