Leeds band The Calls will launch their mini album at The Lending Room on 15 September, one of only two gigs by the band, the other in the City twin, Dortmund.
The band have taken some time to create a new visual outlook since their Garageland EP, building on their success to explore new sounds. This doesn’t mean they’ve changed their identity, they’ve just retained their energy, their attitude, and kept that element of surprise in rhythmical changes… They still sound like The Calls, though it’s clear to see they’re evolving creatively and nurturing their uniqueness. Like always, their lyrics have something to say, and challenge people’s perceptions of the norm.
