If you’re one of the first 2,000 people to visit Trinity on Wednesday 21 March at noon, not only will you be able to enjoy a slice of the 3 metre high birthday cake (above), but you will also be given a £5 Trinity Leeds gift card.
The cake, made by The Tattooed Bakers, celebrates not only Trinity itself but also some of Leeds’ famous people and teams, from the Kaiser Chiefs to Nicola Adams and Leeds Rhinos.
The award-winning Trinity generates £150 million each year and provides jobs for thousands of people working in 120 stores, shops and restaurants.
Some of the interesting facts released are an eye-opener:
It is the size of 13 football pitches.
Its roof contains 1,902 panes of glass
MEATliquor has sold 50,000 Dead Hippie Burgers
Lindt has weighed out 32,381 kg of pick and mix chocolates for customers (That’s 6 adult elephants!)
Pho has dished up 250,000 bowls of pho
Trinity is the only shopping centre ever to be voted on the Cool Brands List – and is the Winner of the Best of The Best Design Awards, International Council for Shopping Centres.
There’s a lot to celebrate!
Adam combines his interest in Leeds with a flair for writing discovered back in school days. He says he’ll tackle any topic as long as it’s Leeds.
