The Head of Steam – Arriving on Park Row in September

The third in Leeds and the sixteenth in the UK, The Head of Steam is transforming the old Lloyds Bank on Park Row into a venue for craft ales, mouthwatering food and retro gaming.

After a £1 million investment, this venue will surely become one of the City’s most popular, with draught beer from home and abroad, from Northern Monk to the Brooklyn Brewery, as well as some impressive collaborations with the Tooth & Claw Brewery.  House beers come from Cameron, including Road Crew, from the Motorhead track of that name and a collaboration with the heavy metal band.  You can take a little of your pleasure home with you, too, as there’s a canning machine.  Pick your favourite and head off with a 440 ml can of it to savour later.

Customers will benefit from a variety of collaborations with local breweries, tasting events and takeovers, and a separate bar room will be available for private hire, taking bookings on site or online,

What about the food?  Seven days a week (and via Deliveroo for central Leeds dwellers) there’s a very appealing burger menu, including the 100% plant based Moving Mountains, and some pub favourites, such as the Road Crew beer battered fish and chips.

Entertainment in the evenings will include live music on Thursdays and Fridays, and DJs on Fridays and Saturdays.

The gaming zone includes an island bar, shuffleboards and a selection of retro arcade classics, including Streetfighter.

Mark Connor, Head of Steam Operations Manager, was suitably enthusiastic:

“We’re confident that our newest bar is going to blow both fans of The Head of Steam and newcomers away. Few bars can match our level of high-quality craft ales, and our food and gaming offering only adds to the experience. We’ve seen the brand go from strength-to-strength since it was acquired by Camerons Brewery in 2013, and the future possibilities are endless. We can’t wait to see you at our newest bar for a pint of ale!”
