British Pie Week: Roundup
It’s British Pie Week, a whole week dedicated to celebrating the glorious pastry encrusted pub classic - and lucky for Leeds-based pie fans, there’re pies galore to go around whatever flavour floats your gravy boat.


The most immediately obvious place to celebrate British Pie Week, Pieminster has chosen this week to debut its new Saag Pie-neer. Packed with peas, paneer, spinach, potato, chilli and mango, it’s a sweet and spicy meat-free creation bound to tempt even staunch carnivores.

If this Indian-inspired invention doesn’t get your taste buds tingling, there are plenty more pies to take your pick from. After all, Pieminster is dedicated purely to pies all year round!

Indian street food kitchen Bundobust is jumping on the Pie Week wagon, serving limited edition Bundo Pie & Peas all week. A distinctly Bundobust take on pie, fans of the restaurant’s current menu will no doubt enjoy the potato and cauliflower filling cooked with chillies, garlic and mustard, and topped with poppadom crust.

Leeds Brewery

Leeds Brewery is holding a pie off, asking visitors to its seven pubs to vote for their favourite pie. Each pub will be serving a signature pie, which will be featured on Leeds Brewery’s special pie menu available in all their pubs. The winning pie will receive a permanent place on the Leeds Brewery menu. All you have to do is vote on Twitter using the appropriate hashtag listed below.

Lamb and Flag: Roasted sweet potato, caramelised leek, spinach, cranberry and Wensleydale pie served in puff pastry with seasonal vegetables #pieweeklamb

Duke of York: Creamy chicken, streaky bacon and pea pie topped with a shortcrust pastry and served with seasonal vegetables and mash #pieweekduke
