Announced also is the festivals partnership with Leeds Digital Festival, which will take place in the five days prior to the festival on the 25th- 29th April. The Digital Festival is the first of its kind, celebrating all things digital in the City, combining this element with the tried and tested live formula. With a portfolio of ten years experience under their belt already, Live at Leeds is billed to be its biggest yet, touted to reach their widest audience yet.
Part of this may be owing to the fairly eclectic line up, covering both the more familiar rock band territory from the likes of bluesy, rock ‘n’ roll Band of Skulls, and more indie kid sentiments of We Are Scientists to the soulful tones of house/pop/dub step orientated Jess Glynne, who will draw wider audiences still.
And of course, Live at Leeds is often a place of newer discoveries: billed to be stars of 2016 are Rat Boy; the Essex born Jamie T-esque chap behind single ‘Fake ID’, Circa Waves; British indie-rock fodder likened to The Strokes and closer to home The Vaccines; and Clean Cut Kid who hail from Liverpool.
