To celebrate Bastille Day, Bavette has created a delicious seasonal menu. It’s only available for lunch on Sunday 14 July
.
Bavette is a neighbourhood restaurant from ex-Culpeper Head Chef Sandy Jarvis and his husband, Restaurant Manager and Sommelier Clément Cousin, formerly of East London’s much-loved Brawn and The Buxton. Their Bastille Day menu includes three courses, plus snacks, for £45, making it the perfect option to enjoy a wonderful yet affordable meal with family and friends.
Known as a relaxed, convivial bistro where food and wine are of equal measure, the menu is seasonally led featuring an array of classic French dishes. For the table, snacks will consist of Baguette & House Butter (Confit Garlic & Chervil) and Cervelle de Canut with Crudité and Walnut Oil.
To start there will be Escargot Provencial a la Colombe D’Or, Tapenade Croutons with Basil, Grilled Scallops and Parsley Butter or Pork Rillions with Frisée Salad and Ravigot Sauce. The main dish served will be Magret de Canard with Sarladaise Potatoes, Ratatouille and Armagnac Jus. Strawberry & Crème Patissiere Tart with Strawberry Sorbet will finish the meal in true classic style. For an extra cost of £7 per person, add a fourth-course of ‘George & Joseph’ Cheese Plate, Chutney & Baguette.
The special menu is accompanied by Bavette’s extensive wine list chosen by Sommelier and Founder Clément Cousin, who champions a range of French producers. The seasonal set menu is available for lunch on Sunday, July 14th, either at 12.30/1pm or 3/3.30pm. To add some celebratory flare to the meal, there will be a free glass of fizz for those dressed ‘as French as they can be’.
