#360RAW8 – Emerging Local Bands At The Lending Room on 21 June

Over the past year, seven #360RAW events have been sold out.  They were each emotional, they were each exciting, and they were each the result of the collaboration between Richard Watson (360 Club Promoter) and Alan Raw (Introducing West Yorkshire).  #360RAW8 is going to take place on 21 June at The Lending Room.

A selection of the Region’s emerging artists will take the stage, those who will no doubt leave the #360RAW audience emotional and excited once more.  Alan Raw will DJ before and between the live sets.  Alan plays music of all genres by local artists and anyone can turn up to meet Alan and bring demos.  He might even play them on the night.  No promises, though.  Richard and Alan are all about supporting emerging talent, which is why they give of their time, their help and their advice.  No hidden agenda and no catch.  Refreshing, don’t you think?

Here’s some info on the bands:

CEILING DEMONS

WITHOUT CERTAINTY: https://youtu.be/oh1xp4tr6hI

… Amazingly powerful and heartfelt roots music from the North of England …” TOM ROBINSON

Alternative art-rap, stemming from bereavement and love and combining wordplay with striking instrumentals.  This band supports addressing mental health issues amongst musicians.  They work with CALM, a suicide prevention charity, to raise awareness – and funds – for a cause close to their hearts.

IMPYUS

BLACK SHARK: https://youtu.be/iFDZ3QDq8Sc

“… In short, they’re the nu-metal that stayed relevant; the rap-rock that didn’t try to copy the market; and the funk rock that never went cliché …” MUSIC SEASON

A Leeds band who “use guitars, drums, a Moog, some phat bass, a bloody heavy piano, some clever stuff on an iPad, some feedback and a healthy dose of hip hop to conjure up melodies for maladies in the 21st Century.”

WEEZY JEFFERSON

ONLY THE STRONG: https://youtu.be/Wdh-PaVAu_w

“… He definitely feels like an artist on the up …” YORKSHIRE EVENING POST

Born and raised in Leeds, Weezy Jefferson takes his inspiration from hip hop artists who are known for their lyrical strength.  He’s been on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1xtra and supported international performers such as Mos Def.

PILLS, WEED AND A FEW KEYS

Another Leeds band, Pills, Weed and a Few Keys are doing their own thing, creating rap n roll via Northern angst, gangster rap and melodic rock.  Tactical, melodic breaks are followed by carnage.  Distinctly distinctive.
