Mabgate, at the north eastern periphery of Leeds City Centre, is often overlooked in terms of its vibrant cultural activity. There is a diverse range of late night openings, exhibitions, gigs and other events which have so much to offer.
Come Find Us, a seasonal programme, helps people to discover just what they’re missing!
Now in its third year, Come Find Us offers tours on the first Friday of every month, often with over 50 participants.
The next guided tour is on Friday 7 June at 6.30 p.m. inside The Old Red Bus Station. You’ll see the tour guide wearing the Come Find Us sash – and if you can’t make it for 6.30, the itinerary will tell you where you need to be to join the party.
Tour meeting point
6:30 – 7:00 pm / The Old Red Bus Station
Meeting at 6:30, enjoy a swift drink and mingle, then depart at 7.00 p.m.
James Bywood – Recent Works
7- 7:30 pm / The Leeds Print Workshop
We’re told: “James Bywood creates vibrant graphical interpretations of the British landscape. His work is inescapably connected to the landscape he grew up in. He was born on the edge of the Peak District in Sheffield and spent many a childhood holiday in the Lake District and Scotland. His attachment to this landscape informs everything he creates”.
Vege-Table Tasting and Temple Tour
7:40 – 8:10 pm / Temple of Boom
There’s the opportunity to try out some tasters from the menu at the new veggie cafe that’s opened in Byron Street Mills, located across the courtyard from Temple of Boom. There’s also a chance to look around the DIY gig venue.
Meet the Artists
8:20pm – 9pm / Patrick studios
Meet some artists, see their studios and hear about their latest projects in the making. Have a tour around East Street Arts and enjoy a drink.
9:10pm – 9:30pm / SIIK Studios
When Lady Beck closed last year, a lot of artists relocated to a new warehouse space down the road. This will give you an idea of their plans for the use of the space.
9:45pm – 10pm / The Brunswick
The Brunswick is the venue for some socialising with the Come Find Us team, with a chance to discuss the events and art scene on this month’s tour!
