Fisical Sports Coaching’s Year of Fundraising for Candlelighters

2019 will see Candlelighters, the children’s cancer charity, benefit from Fisical Sports Coaching’s endeavours as they take on a variety of challenges.

Tom and James, owners of Fisical, previously raised money for Sports Relief.  They work to coach school and pre-school children in sports, both in schools and at their base in Baildon.  This year will see them step up to particular physical challenges, such as Settle Half Marathon, Canoeing Lake Windermere, Yorkshire Three Peaks, The Great North Swim, Rough Runner, The Yorkshire Marathon and a coast to coast cycle ride.

In addition to the fund-raising, Tom and James hope to raise awareness of the work of Candlelighters, who support families with children who have cancer.  The support comes in a variety of ways, such as holidays, therapies, equipment and research at Leeds Children’s Hospital.  James and Tom chose Candlelighters because they lost a 17 year old friend to cancer, then their friend’s niece at just 4 years old, and witnessed the fantastic benefit Candlelighters brought to the families.

Gina, Community Fundraiser from Candlelighters said “We are delighted the team from Fisical Sports Coaching have decided to support Candlelighters. The challenges they have set themselves are incredible.  We really appreciate all the amazing effort they are putting in to their fundraising. Each year approximately 150 children are diagnosed with cancer across Yorkshire.  The money raised through Fisical Sport Coaching’s year will make a huge difference to these children and their families.”
