Preview: Glass Mountain at The Brudenell

Lelo and Pura Vida join Bradford quartet Glass Mountain on 23 February at the Brudenell in a special one-off performance.

Glass Mountain now has a reputation for beautifully crafted, often sorrowful music.  They released Gin Flows Through My Veins in 2018, then their EP Wow & Flutter, from which comes Have To Lie, about pretending to be okay when you’re really not.

Harry Hanson, singer and lyricist, spoke about Have To Lie:  “It’s easy to think that you can just push bad thoughts to the back of your head, bottling them up. I am really bad for it as are many other people. Inevitably the bad thoughts will all come back and hit like a wave. It’s better to just get the thoughts out, speak to friends, anyone that will listen. You’re not a burden to anyone if you want to tell them what’s going on in your head. I’ve only recently learned that.

The video for HAVE TO LIE was shot on Super 8 cine film by London filmmaker Adrian Cousins. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRqaxmvVEg4&feature=youtu.be

And the award-winning video for GIN FLOWS THROUGH MY VEINS, made by Sodium Films, is available to watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVYDi7foxLg
