Sunnyjolly Designs: a New Creative Hub in Pudsey

Pudsey’s new creative hub blends animal art, community workshops and eco-friendly crafting.

Local artist and designer Helen Broadhead is bringing a splash of color and a wave of community spirit to West Yorkshire with the opening of Sunnyjolly Designs, a vibrant new independent art shop, studio and creative hub located at 35A Richardshaw Lane.

What started as a highly successful online Etsy shop has blossomed into a physical storefront designed to inspire creativity in people of all ages. Sunnyjolly Designs isn’t just a retail space; it is a dedicated community hub focused on making art accessible, sustainable and joyful.

Visitors to the shop will find a whimsical collection of original watercolor paintings, hand-painted gifts, ceramics, mugs and lifestyle accessories, heavily inspired by wildlife, nature and animals. Beyond the retail space, the heart of Sunnyjolly Designs lies in its interactive studio, which hosts a variety of hands-on art workshops. The hub offers specialized after-school sessions, home education activities and holiday art programmes, where both children and adults can explore watercolors, acrylics, pottery, felting and mixed media.

At a time when community spaces are more important than ever, Sunnyjolly Designs is paving the way with a deeply rooted, eco-friendly philosophy. The studio proudly features:

* A Free Craft Swap Station: A dedicated area where community members can donate unwanted craft supplies and take what they need for their own projects, reducing waste and financial barriers to crafting.
* Workshops to promote sustainability. Using recycled items, old style crafts such as rag rugging and reuse whenever possible.

Helen Broadhead, Founder: “Our goal is to create a welcoming space where anyone can walk in, feel inspired and try their hand at something creative. By combining my love for animal art with community workshops and sustainable initiatives like our craft swap, we hope to build a kinder, more creative community right here in Pudsey.”

Sunnyjolly Designs is now open to the public:
Tuesday 10 – 6
Wednesday – Saturday 10 – 4

Members of the press, local bloggers and community leaders are invited to visit the shop, interview Helen and see the creative hub in action.
