South Pacific – at Leeds Grand Theatre

A South Pacific island during World War II is the setting for this Rodgers & Hammerstein love story. Jamie Wilson and Jonathan Church’s new production is set to entertain Leeds audiences from 1 – 5 November.

With a full orchestra and over 30 in the cast to do justice to this much-loved Tony and Pulitzer prize musical, we’ll be treated to songs such as Some Enchanted Evening, I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair and Happy Talk.

Cast members include Julian Ovenden (Downton and Bridgerton) and Gina Beck (Wicked and Matilda), alongside fellow members of the original Chichester Festival Theatre, including Rob Houchenas and Joanna Ampilas.

Daniel Evans and Kathy Bourne, Artistic and Executive Directors of Chichester Festival Theatre respectively, said they were proud to be working with regional theatres “to bring Rodgers & Hammerstein’s beloved musical to wider audiences across the country”. They added “We are always delighted to be able to share work made in Chichester beyond the borders of Sussex”.
