Van Gogh Alive: In Bradford

This beautiful immersive experience at the wonderful Grade II listed Regency Hall in Bradford will now be open until 29 January, an extension as a result of great demand.

In addition to welcoming a global audience of over 8.5 million in 80 cities, Van Gogh Alive is delighting the people of Bradford and beyond – and for three weeks longer than previously scheduled. (A ticket would make a great Christmas gift, folks.)

As the UK City of Culture 2025, Bradford has joined Edinburgh, Manchester and London in hosting Van Gogh Alive, which is created by Grande Experiences. Since it opened on 13 October, its seen some familiar faces, such as Emmerdale actors Chris Chittell and Darcy Grey; and Asma Elbadawi, basketball player and Adidas Ambassador.

Visitors are immersed in the life and work of Vincent Van Gogh as they travel through periods of his life that defined him as an artist. Over 3,000 images from the artist are spectacularly presented with stunning detail, including iconic works like Starry Night, Sunflowers and lesser-known paintings that were inspired by his love of Japanese woodprints.

Van Gogh’s work is presented in a kaleidoscope of colour and set to a classical score which, together with the aromas, provide the sensation of walking into living scenes.

There is also the opportunity for visitors to learn more about the troubled but talented artists’ life – and there are opportunities to create their own souvenirs within the iconic ‘Sunflower selfie room’ – complete with hundreds of sunflowers – that has delighted Instagram feeds from all across Yorkshire.

Greg Talbot from Van Gogh Alive UK: “We’re thrilled to be extending our run here in Bradford. We’ve had an incredible response from local people – as well as those who have travelled from far and wide from across Yorkshire to experience the exhibition.

The response just shows that there’s a real appetite for culture here in the district and it’s no wonder it won the UK City of Culture 2025 accolade. There are still plenty of tickets available for the extended run and Under 5s go free with concessions available. We urge people to book their tickets soon as this really is the last chance to experience Van Gogh Alive here in Yorkshire.”

Van Gogh Alive has also partnered with local mental health charity, Mind in Bradford, to raise money towards its crucial services across the district. Visitors have been donating via ‘Tap to Donate’ points throughout the experience and have so far raised over £1000. The extension of the run hopes to raise further funds towards Mind’s Winter Appeal, which aims to reach a wider audience of those in need this winter.

Last chance tickets are available priced from £17.00 for concessions, £22.00 for adults, and FREE for under 5s with further concessions and school group discounts available.  Tickets are available to buy from: www.vangoghaliveuk.com/bradford/

Gift Vouchers can also be purchased on behalf of others, the perfect Christmas present for anyone struggling for ideas for their loved ones. Gift Vouchers are available to buy form: https://www.universe.com/events/van-gogh-alive-gift-voucher-tickets-4BMGRN
