Candlelighters, the charity for children with cancer, is asking the people of Yorkshire to plan pink-themed fundraising and awareness activities during the week of 5 – 11 June. Funds are particularly used to help children with cancer and their families to go on holiday. At a time in their lives when holidays don’t really feature in their thoughts, a family break away together might well be just what they need. Candlelighters’ holidays allow families to enjoy some quality time together and provide respite away from the day-to-day of living with cancer. We know that these happy memories last a lifetime, and you can help families make them. So whether you do a pink bake sale, pink fun run, pink fancy dress day, or any other weird and wonderful pink activities, you’ll be helping children with cancer and their families – and hopefully having lots of fun in the process! |
Spread the word! Candlelighters has lots of resources to help you shout about your fundraising – check them out and download them here. Make sure to tag them in your social media posts. Use the hashtag #PinkItUp. As well as raising vital funds, the charity wants to raise awareness of childhood cancer, so make sure to shout about what you’re up to and why! |
If you’d like support taking part or have any questions, the Candlelighters team will be happy to help – just drop them an email at [email protected] or call them on 0113 322 9283. |
