| From now until the 17th July, local charity for the homeless, Simon on The Streets is asking you to step into the shoes of their outreach workers. On average, an outreach worker walks 20,000 steps a day – around 10 miles – in order to provide emotional and practical support to rough sleepers. The charity is hoping you will take on the challenge and walk, run or cycle their distance. With their fundraising events postponed for the foreseeable future, it’s even harder to raise funds, so they need your support even more. Facing up to the challenges of Covid-19, Simon on the Streets continues to provide a vital service on the streets, safely accommodating and supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our society. If you want to be involved, to Step into Simon’s Shoes all you need to do is request a fundraising pack from admin@simononthestreets or download the pack from simonsshoes.co.uk. The fundraising pack includes a short training guide, information on how your donations will help and how to set up your JustGiving page. Now all that’s left to do is choose your distance, collect your sponsors and Step Into Simon’s Shoes! |
