Over a decade ago, Newton Faulkner took the music scene by storm with his debut double platinum album Handbuilt By Robots and the hit single Dream Catch Me, followed by five albums selling over 1.5 million copies and with over 180 million streams.
In March, Newton released The Very Best of Newton Faulkner…So Far, with three brand new tracks and a surprising vibe. A second disc will include Bohemian Rhapsody and Send Me On My Way, newly recorded live, and providing what fans have been requesting for a long time.
Newton said: “The Best Of album feels like a real milestone. I’m so proud of it as a body of work and the second disc was so much fun to make. I love the challenge of covering songs, which probably is reflected in my choices. For people that have seen me live before, there are some old favourites and there’s also some tracks no one has ever heard me play.”
After enjoying the success of two number 1 albums, Newton produced Hit The Ground Running independently and the same applies to The Best Of…..which includes harp, zither, penny whistle, melodica, bass, piano and electric and acoustic guitar, all played by Newton. The album is inventive and shimmering, offering a new sound to see this music pioneer through another ten years – and more.
