Going Out to Eat/Drink in Leeds

A few more venues whose owners are being creative, despite restrictions:

Tailors Speakeasy – Just Ring for a Gin!

Tailors introduced a ‘ring for gin’ table service, both indoors and in their new gin garden. They’ve done everything they can to balance safety with enjoyment. It’s a great hideaway setting for bubbles.

Jamila Juma-Ware and Matthew Wignall:

“We thought let’s do what we do best, and transport our guests into another world, a bolt-hole in the city  where you can hideaway for a couple of hours, spend quality time with friends, in a fun environment, whilst still remaining safe.”

Top hats and costumes are available to buy but customers can’t try them on for now. Guests are urged to reserve a table online here and follow on Facebook and Instagram @TailorsGin.

Turtle Bay – 2 4 1 Caribbean Breakfasts

Turtle Bay is now open from 0830 with breakfasts until 1100, and bottomless brunch starting at 1000 every day until 1500 – and the Bay has extended its happy hour, from when it opens until 2000! This means cocktails can be enjoyed 2 4 1 all day long.

Free WiFi and sockets are in plentiful supply for those whose creative minds thrive on flavours, sounds and a change of surroundings from wfh. Be sure to book your table to avoid disappointment.

Bundobust Curry House Classics

It was National Curry Week last week, and to mark the occasion, Bundobust added some classic specials which will remain on the menu until 1 November. Examples are their version of the Tikka Masala – a tikka-marinated, chargrilled squash, a vegan Saag Aloo and masala-dusted, but-sized poppadoms and pickles. There are more – and they’re all available via Deliveroo.

Chophaus – Autumn Brunch and a one-off Caribbean Night

Chophaus is rising above the grim nature of 2020. Their brunch menu launches on 17 October – and there’s a nod to Leeds United’s Manager with The Bielsa. This is a 300g Argentinian sirloin steak served with chimichurri and roasted red bell peppers.

The Bielsa

On 2 November, there’s the first ever Haus Takeover, when Chef Dom Taylor will be producing some exotic dishes – but there are only 40 places available for people who will enjoy canapes and a 3-course dinner.
