Preview: The Summer Cocktail Experience

This year, The Cocktail Experience takes over The Faversham on Saturday 8 June from 2 until 8 p.m., and with a twist: the best of Leeds’ cocktail scene will be joined by Reds True Barbecue.

Local DJs will add their sets to the mix (like it?) with a summer sound just right to complete the festival feel.

The Faversham, recently refurbished, offers spaces both indoors and out, so everyone’s a winner no matter the weather.

Sixteen bars and brands will be there to tempt those tastebuds, amongst them Jake’s Bar, Neighbourhood,

Revolucion de Cuba – Dessert Flower

The Lost and Found Leeds Club, Revolucion de Cuba, Angelica’s, Banyan, Be At One, Harvey Nichols, Oracle, The Restaurant Bar & Grill, Manahatta, Hedonist Bar and The Liquorist.  They are all creating and remixing those summery concoctions – some keeping them under wraps until the big day.  The combination of mixology expertise, a welcoming venue and Cocktail Experience enthusiasm should certainly ensure an entertaining and successful event.

Reds True Barbecue will offer a selection of ribs, burgers and wings with a firm nod to the USA.  If Italian is your thing, YO-31 Wood Fire Pizza Co will be there to sate the appetites of the meat-eaters as well as offering vegan friendly food.  For the sweet-toothed and sinful, Doh’ Hut will be on hand with their gourmet donuts.

The Cocktail Experience coincides with World Gin Day – enter Slingsby’s Gin of Harrogate, who will host an exclusive bar, and there’ll be surprise and treats from the likes of Tanqueray No.10, Bombay Sapphire, Whitely Neil and more.

As the tennis season is upon us, fans can enjoy an iconic seasonal drink – Pimm’s will also be in full force, serving  from their very own bar.

The Pink Gorilla team, with an established reputation for delivering some of Leeds most memorable launches in recent years, believes this is their most ambitious party so far.  Director Jordan Odu had this to say ahead of his event:

’With the bottomless brunch trend booming in Leeds and Britain’s love of festivals, we thought it was time to take the cocktail party out of its comfort zone and into the suburbs, for more of a festival feel. Having attended various events at The Faversham, I knew this venue was perfect, especially after its refurbishment.  The people of Leeds don’t need to be asked twice about a Summer garden party or a cheeky cocktail, so we’re going to give them the biggest and first cocktail festival the City has seen. I hope to see you at the bar!’’
