Following re-design and re-assessment to ensure the safety of all staff and visitors under COVID-19 procedures, the Tetley is re-opening.
The art spaces re-opened on Friday 7 August and both the art spaces and the Bar & Kitchen will open on Wednesdays to Sundays from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.
The galleries have relaunched with two exhibitions – Taus Makhacheva: Hold Your Horses, and Emii Alrai: The High Dam.
The charity behind the Tetley’s art spaces, Project Space Leeds, was awarded Arts Council emergency funding last week, drawn from a fund which was set up in May this year to combat the adverse impact of COVID-19. This ensures that The Tetley can continue its role in the Leeds art scene – creating a platform for emerging artists, providing wonderful free exhibitions for all, and helping young creative people in Leeds.
Rob Kaye, previously Head Chef of Leeds restaurant Stockdales, had only just been appointed Head Chef at The Tetley when lockdown called everything to a halt. Now, Rob is revamping the menu and adding his own flair to some Tetley favourites, prioritising local, quality and seasonal produce. The menu has been honed down, although there will be vegetarian and vegan options and the ever welcome Sunday roasts. Customers will look at the menu and pay for their food through their own device. The Tetley will be operating cash-free as a safety precaution.
There is also a unique Private Dining service, available by booking the grand Tetley Boardroom for private dinner parties for a truly special experience.
During August, each Wednesday The Tetley will take part in the Eat Out To Help scheme, as they encourage people to try the new menu and welcome them back.
