Dave Haslam in Leeds

DJ Dave Haslam is at Hyde Park Book Club on the 20th November.

Dave’s career spans mods to madchester, Joy Divison to Sonic Youth and Hacienda to XFM. He played on over 450 occasions at the Hacienda Club, and toured the world with some iconic artists of the 20th century, such as Stone Roses, New Order, Primal Scream and Gorillaz.

This man’s career is nothing if not impressive: promoter, host, writer for NME, own label, magazine Debris, talks, lectures, an installation, guest on national TV and radio, a weekly show on XFM, onstage interviews in the UK and Paris, teaching music journalism, an exhibition, a commission by Manchester International Festival and several books, not the least of which is his autobiography ‘Sonic Youth Slept on My Floor: Music, Manchester and More’ reviewed by The Sunday Times as ‘Smart………beautifully written………….utterly endearing’.

Dave Haslam’s career is dedicated to music. Budding DJs in and around Leeds might well want to watch and listen to a master at work from 7 p.m. on Saturday 20 November.
