Mac DeMarco at The Piece Hall Halifax on 27 June

Mac DeMarco and his band will be at Halifax’s The Piece Hall on 27 June, having recently released his fourth full-length album, Here Comes The Cowboy.

This is a debut release for Mac’s Record Label, written, tracked and mixed at his Jizz Jazz Studios in Los Angeles – and he’s shared the lead single, Nobody, and his own video:

Mac says “This one is my cowboy record. Cowboy is a term of endearment to me; I use it often when referring to people in my life. Where I grew up there are many people that sincerely wear cowboy hats and do cowboy activities. These aren’t the people I’m referring to.”

He plays nearly every instrument on the album, although his close friend and touring member Alec Meen plays keyboard on some tracks.  Engineering and mixing duties were shared by Joe Santarpia.
