This Wakefield band is truly independent, with their own record label, shop and cafe bar as well as their self-built studio.
They do not rely on a booking agent or manager, and whilst this is by no means unique, Adore/Repel have self-booked and played several UK tours, selling all their merchandise, and they have performed three sell-out tours in Iceland and played the Reading and Leeds Festivals. They made the BBC Introducing Top Ten Sessions list and self-released their debut album, Empty Orchestra.
Adore/Repel have also just played a ten-date tour of the United States, again self-booked and financed, and to celebrate all this, the band will play the 360 Club on Friday 19 October.
You can listen to EMPTY ORCHESTRA here.
Before leaving for their USA tour, the band launched a new single and video, FRACTURES / IN TIME, which you can watch here.
Empty Orchestra generated some impressive reviews:
“… A debut album of this calibre in such a volatile industry is something to be marvelled at; unique, thought-provoking and intense. They have a very bright future ahead …” THIS IS SOUNDCHECK
“… Everybody has different tastes but no matter what you listen to, this really is something special; it’s so good it could transcend all music tastes …” LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE
“… Music that calls to mind rusty jeeps, dusty roads and the howl of a wolf pack baying for your blood; you’ll want to stick your head out of the sunroof for a gulp of fresh air then jump back on the accelerator before this album gets the better of you …” MOTLEY MAGAZINE
