Yorkshire born and Yorkshire bred, in this case not only the classic Wuthering Heights but also the production’s Director, Charmaine K Parkin. SISATA, a classical immersive theatre company, is bringing a new adaptation of Wuthering Heights to Charmaine’s home county as part of a national tour.
As the creator of SISATA – Open Air Theatre and BOK Theatre – Charmaine’s passions lie in making theatre
accessible to all, putting the audience experience at the forefront and challenging the status
quo with both new writing and adaptations of classic stories for modern audiences.

Charmaine: “This is the perfect show to take SISATA up north for the first time. I grew up just
outside of Hull and had my first theatre experiences as a child at Hull Truck Theatre and The Hull
New Theatre as a former Skelton Hooper dance school pupil. I’m so excited to bring my work
back to my home.”
Actor Nim McQuin: “When else do you get the Yorkshire moors brought to your doorstep? It’s a great
opportunity to get out in the gorgeous open air spaces we have here and simultaneously feel
them transformed into something completely different!”
Spanish actor Ignacio Parish, playing the role of Heathcliff, spoke of his anticipation in bringing
this show to Yorkshire: “I’m having to watch a lot of Peaky Blinders and anything that comes from this area.
Really having to learn. It’s kind of easy because a lot of it is a bit like Spanish reading; you really
pronounce the a’s and the o’s and the u’s. It’s good fun.”
For a limited time only, performances will take place in parks and gardens in Hull, Leeds,
Bradford, Hebden Bridge, and of course at the Brontë Parsonage Museum itself. Audiences are
encouraged to bring along their own picnic blankets, chairs and food to enjoy whilst watching
the show in what we hope will be sunny weather.

Wuthering Heights is at Kirkstall Abbey on 19 August at 6.30 p.m. and at Lotherton Hall on 21 August at 6.30 p.m.
