Good Food, good views and even better cocktails – nothing falls short for Leeds’ latest opening.
Azotea is an oasis, a love letter to the culture and flavours of Latin America. Taking the lift up to the twelfth floor of Hyatt Place, it was as if we’d stepped off a plane. We were transported far away from Leeds City Centre, like a holiday at home!
This rooftop restaurant features two outdoor terraces offering some of the most stunning city views I’ve ever seen. With plenty of outdoor seating, ranging from tables and sofas to cosy firepits, this spot is set to become a go-to destination as we head towards the summer months. The blend of bold flavours with this spectacular setting has made this venue my new recommended spot in Leeds.
Azotea captures the passion and vibrance of Latino culture and is the perfect location for a sunset drink and a dance. The design of the restaurant itself draws inspiration from traditional haciendas, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere which is accelerated by live music – this place absolutely has a buzz! The team have created an ambience which is energetic and rich. All staff were knowledgeable and excited to share their passion, adding to this friendly feel. It was hard to stop smiling.
Azotea’s extensive menu ranges from brunch to bar snacks, each item thoughtfully created to provide a new tasting experience inspired by the flavours of over thirty countries. The tequila-cured salmon ceviche and shiitake mushroom tostada were some of the standout dishes, not forgetting, of course, the Al Pastor sliced roast pork taco – with fresh Pico de Gallo and roasted pineapple: simply delicious! Jared Webb, the Head Chef, has outdone himself and succeeded in curating a menu which promises to be a unique culinary adventure for any guest.
The bar is a spectacle, spanning across an entire room and taking centre stage in the space. Stocked with wines and liquors and an extensive list of tequilas, the choice is endless. I would recommend trying one of their signature cocktails which have been carefully curated to bring to life the flavours of the continent, spanning from Mexico to Argentina and the Caribbean. Perfect for those who love a cocktail which is refreshing and innovative, telling a story in every sip!
There’s something for everyone—whether you’re craving a fresh take on a classic brunch or searching for the perfect spot to unwind with post-work drinks on a Friday. This exciting new opening will definitely impress. It is the perfect urban escape, a chance to immerse yourself in the vibrant Latin American culture and try something new.
Azotea is committed to an experience which is genuine and of the highest quality. With its gorgeous setting and inspired menu it is certainly an exciting addition to Leeds’ already vibrant food scene. From the music to the décor, Azotea has hit the nail on the head. All we’re missing now is the sun. I am keeping my fingers crossed…
