NATI.: Tuesday, April 29 at Brudenell Social Club

On the east coast of the Scottish isles, the youngster from the county of Fife has been hard at work putting in the graft to bring her career in music a viral hit.

Two million followers across social media attest to the fact that the dynamic and drive of the rising star has been putting the Internet on notice. With vocals compared with the ancient heart of the Lowland Hills, met with a Celtic touch, it is without question that NATI. is one to watch, a familiar face for the coming years.

Influenced by stylistic contemporaries Newton Faulkner, Tidelines and Simply Red, NATI.’s inspirations came to light in tremendous fashion in her debut EP “Older”, which explored the coming-of-age from a chaotic childhood, paving the way for a defiant, strong transformation into adulthood. Such a narrative resonates with her audience, and has seen her meteoric rise to unforeseen heights.

NATI.’s sophomoric EP was released mere weeks ago and has already received critical acclaim with the Press.

So came her arrival to the City of Leeds, on a Tuesday night in late April. Enjoying the gentler breeze and the rising temperatures, in hindsight it would seem that the tender and soulful vocal tones of NATI. brought about the warmer climate, welcoming us into the summer.

She may be a ‘painfully Scottish musician’ making tunes, but NATI.’s ability to enrich the hearts of anyone
watching her performance creates a unique energy that transcends thought and emotion, and wills the
viewer into a state approaching euphoria. It is difficult to explain just how impactful and enchanting a performance this can be, the instrumentation bringing to life a vivid snapshot that is almost classical in
implementation.

In the same vein, NATI.’s upbeat array of pop hits creates no wonder that such a talented person could
create the buzz around her. I was particularly wowed by her rendition of “Taste” by Sabrina Carpenter, and felt that her vocal range perfectly suited the attitude and flair of the globally famous musician.

The chatty banter NATI. has with her live audience made for a setlist that breathed fluidly and made one feel like there was so much more to be uncovered still. It was a vibrant set that had us wanting more, despite an immaculate range of songs already being played.

This gig made a Tuesday night in Leeds feel like it should be Friday, every single time this rising star brought forward another rousing hit, surely belonging on a grander stage.

I would highly recommend anyone to check out how high this Scottish shining star can soar!

Nati Dreddd has been on tour to commemorate the release of her sophomoric EP ‘Golden’, which dropped back on March 21, playing dates in places from Dundee to Bristol, to London and Manchester, all the way back up to Newcastle.

Check out her album now on Spotify, and keep in the mix when she’s next in your neck of the woods here!
