Beautiful – The Carole King Musical – 29 May to 2 June

This Olivier and Tony award-winning hit looks at Carole King’s life from before she found fame.  She sold ‘Will You Love Me Tomorrow’ when she was just 17, and only a few years later, she was part of one of the most successful songwriting teams.  Her solo fame came only when her personal life began to crumble.

Bronte Barbe plays Carole in the forthcoming production of Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, and is delighted to be singing songs with which she was already familiar.  She bought Tapestry with her first record player.  However, she has avoided trying to do an impression of Carole’s singing voice whilst still remaining true to the person.

Bronte has been only too aware of the need to reflect the changes in Carole from the age of 16 and through the years – and to achieve this in just 2 hours!  Her favourite number is Beautiful, not the most well-known of Carole’s work and destined, we think, to surprise and uplift the audience.
