Leeds Arts University Student’s Debut Exhibition

Basement Arts Project Leeds is hosting Loane Bobillier‘s ‘Squaring The Circle’ exhibition throughout March. Loane is a 22 year old international student from Switzerland.

Mathematicians have long been absorbed in squaring the circle. It’s a concept which recognises the seeming impossibility that two very different things can co-exist. Through the media of sculpture, photography and painting, Loane encourages us to look a little further than our first impressions of her work.

“Working across a variety of media including sculpture, photography, painting and film, Loane’s artworks are a meditation on identity, belonging and the inner conflict that occurs as we attempt to position ourselves in the context of the external environment.” Basement Arts Project
