Leeds Grand Theatre rolled out the red carpet this week to celebrate its 140th anniversary. It was a collaboration with the musical Jersey Boys, and Yorkshire stars of screen, stage and sport turned out to show their support and their affection for one of the City’s highly respect venues, the Grand Old Lady of Leeds.
Representatives from local business, funding providers, councillors and others were invited, and guests were treated to pre- and post-show drinks and a performance of Jersey Boys.
Speeches were delivered, gratitude was expressed to all the supporters, Happy Birthday was sung and the cake cut. A job well done as always by the Grand’s team at the home of Opera North and Northern Ballet and the host to National Theatre drama, world premieres and many other significant productions.
