A new one year talent development programme for local budding artists is being launched by The Tetley, backed by Tetley’s Brewery. The closing date for applications is 6 August.
The aim is to provide external support and recognition for local artists who can demonstrate a strong direction from the outset. Interviews will take place on 29 August and those who are successful will each have a budget of £1,500 to spend on individual needs, such as a guest mentor, curatorial visits and so on.
Hopefully, the artists and the broader art world will recognise as a result of this initiative that the opportunities to nurture talent are not confined to London and that national recognition can be attained from programmes such as The Tetley Associate Artists.
