Deer Shed Festival 2026 proved once again why it’s one of Yorkshire’s most magical weekends.
Baldersby Park was utterly transformed into one of the UK’s quirkiest festival experiences.
Another year of Deer Shed Festival has (sob sob) come to a rip-roaring close, with Manchester headliners and apocalyptic pop maestros Everything Everything setting the stage alight with their unworldly collision of neon energy and prog pop lyrics, urgent as they are enduring.
The gems that make up Say She She were another silky and harmonious highlight. Watching them was like being transported to 70s NYC disco-soul and absolutely dancing the night away.
At root, the concept of Deer Shed Festival is a simple one – the blending of live music, comedy, arts, science, food and family-friendly activities. However, the reality of what you experience here is far from your ordinary rinse and repeat festival weekender. Deer Shed has always – and continues – to offer something a little different.
While many festivals focus solely on the headline acts, the North Yorkshire favourite is just as much about discovering hidden corners of creativity, stumbling across interactive performances and soaking up the relaxed atmosphere that has become its iconic trademark.
Across the weekend, festivalgoers enjoyed performances from an eclectic line-up of artists, alongside talks, workshops and activities that kept visitors of all ages entertained. From colourful art installations and bustling food vendors (I am still thinking about the cherry bakewell brownie) to peaceful woodland spaces and family adventures, there was no shortage of things to explore between sets.
One of the most charming additions for me was the Wilderwild Retreat, where guests were invited to experience the ultimate relaxation with Deer Shed’s holistic yoga sessions, as well as Floating Sound Baths on the peaceful Baldersby Park lake. Hosted by Synergy Body & Mind, guests were invited to drift peacefully on inflatable mattresses while becoming immersed in meditation, calming sound vibrations, and the gentle flow of water.
Deep within the Wilderwild Retreat, myself and my friends took up a cosy spot on a blanket and made our own funky rings out of pieces of copper pipe (yes, you did read that correctly) which were not only
wearable but surprisingly beautiful (I’ve had many compliments since!)
One of Deer Shed’s biggest strengths is its welcoming atmosphere. Families, music lovers and first-time festivalgoers all come together to create an event that feels intimate, friendly and refreshingly laid back. It’s this balance of great live entertainment and community spirit that keeps so many people returning year after year.
For those already looking ahead, there’s good news. Festival organisers are excited to announce the return of Deer Shed next year, with dates confirmed for the 23 to 26 July 2027. Early bird tickets are on sale now, offering fans the chance to secure their place before next year’s line-up is announced. Better yet, and as a show of good faith, early bird tickets have actually been frozen at 2026 prices and are now
live on the Deer Shed Festival website, with adult tickets starting at £179.
