It’s been carefully planned and in preparation for two years – and it’s now open, just in time for summer: coffee and food all day and bar at night – after close collaboration with local independent food brands and the creation of vegan-friendly dishes and drink menus.
The £3 million Green Room is located next to the Majestic Building and Channel 4’s HQ.
Plant-based food and North Star coffee
The City’s leading providers of ethically sourced coffee beans from the world’s best producers will supply your coffee fix, and from 9 June, Gron will provide plant-based food to match their Roundhay, York and Harrogate venues – Avocado on Toast and Vegan Pancakes with Blueberry compote, coconut yogurt, fresh blueberries, mint, biscoff crumb and maple syrup.
Local, award-winning brews
Craft beers and ales from Northern Monk, Kirkstall Brewery and Magic Rock will be served, alongside a selection of cocktails, ranging from Green Room Ice Tea and Passion Fruit Bramble to a North Star Espresso Martini. Summery drinks can be chosen from the Spritz Menu, which includes Cucumber-Gin or Elderflower Spritz, whilst Gin Goblets range from the fruity Rhubarb and Apple to the warming Bombay Sunset.
The laid back ambience comes from an eclectic mix of industrial fittings, warm soft furnishings, reclaimed furniture, and lush greenery, a great fit day or night. Summer BBQs are planned for the rooftop bar from Thursday to Sunday and local DJs will play the state-of-the-art VOID sound system.
Green Room is home to a pair of luxurious two-bedroom apartments, which are available to rent on Booking.com and Expedia.
Sustainability, Recycling and a Healthy Life
Will Habergham and Kirk Allen have spent the past decade working in clubs, events, and music festivals, taking inspiration from a trip to New Zealand, a country championing venues that focus on recycling, sustainability, and a healthier lifestyle.
