KeFiYo: Every Flavour is a Favourite!

If you’ve been anywhere near Headingley this summer, chances are you’ve seen the queues outside KeFiYo.

Since opening, the vibrant frozen yoghurt spot has quickly become one of Leeds latest food and drink favourites, attracting everyone from the local students and families, to those venturing out just to give it a try. With its build your own bowls, endless toppings and colourful combinations, it’s easy to see why.

After sadly missing their Autumn flavours launch party, where they also celebrated the huge success they’ve had since opening, I was still lucky enough to be invited down to give the new seasonal line up a try – and who would want to miss out on that?

I was very excited to hear they’d launched eight new flavours, as I’ve been a few times myself and loved what they had on the menu beforehand. The autumn line up includes pistachio, Biscoff, rhubarb, chocolate orange, apple pie, caramelised banana, natural and tiramisu. The flavours cover everything from fruity and fresh to rich and more dessert inspired, so there’s plenty to work your way through.

Despite not making it to the launch party itself, the team were just as welcoming and helpful, with some great recommendations. I asked which new flavours had been proving most popular and tiramisu and caramelised banana were the clear winners. So naturally, that’s exactly what I went for and what a perfect recommendation it was.

I had both flavours in a medium cup, which was definitely enough to satisfy the sweet tooth. The caramelised banana was naturally sweet, with a lovely banana flavour that worked particularly well with the caramel sauce I added. The tiramisu was completely different, bringing those familiar coffee and creamy flavours you’d expect from the dessert, but in frozen yoghurt form. Surprisingly, the caramel sauce worked beautifully with both.

What I really liked was how distinct the flavours were. This isn’t just your standard frozen yoghurt with a different syrup mixed through – each one actually tastes like what it’s meant to be. It made the two flavours feel completely different, yet they somehow worked perfectly together and I can definitely see why they’ve been so popular.

Of course, no KeFiYo visit is complete without toppings. I went for strawberries, brownie chunks and waffle biscuits, but the choice is pretty much endless. You can keep things fresh with fruit and nuts, or go all out with sweets, chocolate and everything in between.

The best part? Frozen yoghurt still feels like a slightly healthier sweet treat, but you can make it as indulgent as you like with the toppings.

And don’t worry if your old KeFiYo favourite has disappeared from the menu; the team have said previous flavours will be making their way back, so they’re definitely not gone forever.

With queues still regularly forming outside, be prepared to wait, but trust me, it’s worth it. Head down, work your way through the autumn selection and see which flavour becomes your new favourite.
