Goan Dogs – at Oporto on 12 October

The name Goan Dogs was the idea of lead vocalist Luke St Leger and Daniel Lane, the band’s drummer. It stemmed from a trip to India, when Luke witnessed Goa’s stray dog population.

Their UK tour begins at Oporto on 12 October, ahead of which they have released ‘I Don’t Want to Fight’, following on from the release of their debut album ‘Call Your Mum’. Already enjoying distinctive recognition from BBC Radio 1, gaining Jack Saunders’ Next Wave and landing ‘Ones To Watch 2021’ on the Radio 1/BBC Introducing Show, their tracks have also landed airtime from the likes of Lauren Laverne and Chris Hawkins on BBC 6 Music, as well as repeat plays on Radio X from John Kennedy among many, many others.

‘I Don’t Want To Fight’ carries the band’s musicality to the next level, taking their melodic yet psychedelic hooks to a climactic and truly otherworldly peak. It’s ‘Pyramid Stage’ worthy. But until ‘Worthy’ Farm returns for such optimistic events, this tune must be heard, turned up and absorbed across the airwaves.

Luke: “Have you ever got to the point where you’ve been having a go at each other for so long you can’t even remember what you were having a go at each other about? That’s the time where you have to stop and ask yourself “How did we get here?” And maybe say “I love you. I’m tired. I don’t want to fight””

What the critics have to say:
