Recorded primarily in Los Angeles before lockdown, WHO AM I? features the singles Change, Easy, Fall to Pieces, She’s My Religion and You Don’t Own Me. Then lockdown forced the making of the album to go virtual, with Heather and Clare staying in LA whilst Hugo and Charlie came home to record in their bedrooms:

About the album, Heather says: “For me, music and art is for people not to feel so alone and isolated; I want to be the person that fans look up to and find comfort in.”

Pale Waves released their debut album MY MIND MAKES NOISES in 2018, when they had already won the NME Under the Radar award, had been nominated for the BBC Sound of 2018 shortlist, and had toured with fellow Dirty Hit label mates and mentors the 1975. The album charted at #8 in the UK, establishing the band as an important emerging indie-pop bands in the UK. When the Top 3 WHO AM I? album was released, the band’s status was cemented.
