Stewart Copeland: at City Varieties on 4 November

The Police drummer Stewart Copeland is one of the greatest rock drummers of all time. He drove the all-conquering success of The Police during the 1970s and 1980s, before being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

A multi-Grammy winner, who followed his work with The Police by composing music for soundtracks for Hollywood movies and operas, Stewart is hitting the road for his most intimate tour to date.

During a 13-date tour of England and Wales, he will share his life as a performer, musician, entertainer and writer.

His tour, entitled Have I Said Too Much? – The Police, Hollywood, and other Adventures, will start on October 25 and conclude on November 9.

Having played drums for Curved Air from 1975 to 1976, Stewart was the founding member of The Police, recruiting lead singer Sting and guitarist Andy Summers. His remarkable talent helped drive The Police to world domination between 1977 and 1986, and then again from 2007 to 2008, when the band reunited.

His Hollywood soundtracks include Francis Ford Coppola’s Rumblefish and Oliver Stone’s Wall Street and Talk Radio. He wrote books, formed supergroups, made films and composed music for ballet, opera, and classical concerts.

Stewart: “As the drummer with The Police I have played some of the biggest stadiums in the world. This tour, however, will see me visit much more intimate venues. It will be a real privilege to share the stories of my life with fans in these great settings.”

An Evening With Stewart Copeland will provide a fascinating insight into his incredible life as a performer, musician, entertainer and writer.
