Yorkshire’s newest festive spectacular attracted over 100,000 visitors during its 5 week run at Leeds’ iconic Temple Newsam.
The brand-new light trail took visitors on a jaw-dropping journey through a spectrum of illuminations, accompanied by unique musical compositions that transformed the grounds of the Grade I-listed gardens of the beloved landmark.

A one-mile paved walk through a festive wonderland that included fifteen distinct illuminated zones as well as fairground rides, food & drink traders and much more, the attraction dazzled visitors of all ages between Thursday 21st November and 31st December 2024.
Northern Lights has been described as “the best light trail we have ever been to” and “an amazing, illuminating, budget-friendly experience” by mesmerised visitors. Amongst the hundreds of comments and reviews, another attendee commented “We do an annual illumination tour every year, it’s become a tradition now, but this year at Northern Lights was certainly the most magical one”.

Northern Lights was presented by multi-award-winning event producers From The Fields. Most recently awarded ‘Event Promoter of the Year 2024’ (Access all Areas) and Best Music Promoter (Event Production Awards), the northern business has over 25 years of experience producing large-scale events and unforgettable memories, from world-renowned festivals Kendal Calling and Bluedot to Cardiff’s award-winning Christmas at Bute Park light trail, Northern Lights Newcastle and citywide cultural event Arts By The Sea.
Northern Lights Leeds will share details of their 2025 plans later this year.

Roxy Robinson – Director, From The Fields said: “After five exhilarating weeks, the first ever Northern Lights Leeds has drawn to a close and so we wanted to thank all of our amazing visitors for taking a chance on a brand new event and joining us in our first year! Bringing a new event to life at Temple Newsam has been an incredible adventure and we are so proud of this year’s magical artworks and illuminations.
Now that we have a chance to step back and process things, we couldn’t be more humbled at the feedback we’ve had, and we hope we gave Leeds a unique experience and some magical moments! I would also like to say a huge thank you to all our staff, suppliers, lighting designers, producers, stewards, food traders, security, bar staff, rubbish collectors and trail managers. Our on-site teams have braved all weathers, working in sometimes very challenging conditions over Christmas, always with a friendly smile.
We can’t wait to come back in 2025!”
