Leeds Heritage Theatres has something for everyone.

Keep the kids entertained with LHT Unwrapped events or treat yourselves to a night at the theatre with the UK’s favourite wordsmith Susie Dent at City Varieties, and award-winning productions at Leeds Grand Theatre, including the National Theatre’s much-loved stage adaptation of War Horse.

LHT Unwrapped: Drama Day: Tue 5 – Thu 7 August

Join us at Leeds Grand Theatre this August for an action-packed workshop for ages 6 – 14, bursting with drama, games, improv and script work. In time for LeedsBID’s city-wide celebration, Wonderland Awaits, our Drama Days will be drawing on the imaginative world and inspiring themes of Alice in Wonderland.

LHT Unwrapped: Play in a Week: Mon 11 August

Join us this August for Play in a Week, an opportunity for young people aged 9 – 11 to devise a variety show for Leeds Grand Theatre Studio. The Great Glass Elevator is landing this summer! Following our youth theatre production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, we are taking inspiration from the second Wonka story, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator.

Based on the beloved novel by Michael Morpurgo, adapted by Nick Stafford and directed by Tom Morris, this powerfully moving and imaginative drama from the National Theatre takes audiences on an extraordinary journey from rural Devon to the trenches of First World War France. At its heart are astonishing life-sized horses by South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company, who bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to thrilling life on stage.
