The North’s favourite Mexican restaurant is arriving in Leeds. Bringing the bold flavours and vibrant energy of Mexico City to the City, Madre will officially open its doors at Wellington Place on 17 April.
By day, Madre is a laid-back space designed for relaxed lunches and long, easy afternoons. By night, it transforms into a lively restaurant serving a menu that celebrates the breadth of Mexican cuisine – from rich Oaxacan-inspired moles and salsas to Baja-style mariscos and Sonoran grilled meats. Expect a dining experience that captures Mexico’s most iconic culinary moments in an atmosphere built for big energy and good times.
At the heart of Madre is the Mexican tradition of sobremesa – the art of lingering at the table long after the meal is over. It’s about good food, great drinks and even better company, a philosophy that has earned the restaurant a loyal following and critical acclaim across the North.
Situated in the heart of Wellington Place, Madre is perfectly placed for midweek lunches, with a lunch combo menu priced at £15 per person. Guests can enjoy tacos (served in pairs), a side and a drink.
Madre’s popular Taco Tuesday will also be heading to Leeds. Launching on Cinco de Mayo and running every Tuesday thereafter, guests can enjoy two-for-one tacos all day, every Tuesday.
Madre joins its sister venue, Salon Madre – the lively tequila bar, taqueria and sports hangout – which opened in the City in February. Just a few minutes walk apart, the two spots are perfectly paired for a full day or night out: start with dinner at Madre before heading to Salon Madre for margaritas and games, or catch the match at Salon Madre before settling in for a meal at Madre.
