The Beehive, Thorner – Buzzing Again

Whether you’re a casual drinker or a serious diner, the new Chef and team at The Beehive is ready to welcome you through its doors once again.

A new creative direction is being spearheaded by Alex Farolfi, the new Chef, who is enthusiastic about sourcing ingredients locally and around Yorkshire, including foraged food. His enthusiasm stems from his time working alongside Simon Rogan at renowned eatery L’Enclume in Cartmel, Cumbria. He next worked at Grantley Hall for Shaun Rankin as he worked towards a well deserved Michelin star.

Alex now has his own project with The Beehive. Alex: “I believe we should take advantage of what ingredients we have around us in Yorkshire as there is so much that we can use to make into delicious dishes. My vision is to recreate classic dishes and reintroduce long lost British flavours to create a perfect, relaxed pub environment”.

Owner, Dale Wynter said, “Over the lockdown period I was able to reflect on what feedback we had from our customers. I believe Alex is the person to get the pub where it needs to be, for the village and for the City. We are excited to welcome our guests back”.

A traditional twist on classic British Pub food.

Currently, small plates are being served in multiples for people share or for single diners to sample, such as beef and blue cheese sliders or pea risoni. Denby Dale is the source of spring lamb croquettes and for those with a sweet tooth, Denholme apiary honeycomb – served with The Beehive’s cultured yoghurt, preserved raspberry, wild bee pollen and toasted hazelnut.

The Beehive’s Sunday roast has not been forgotten, with a variety of meats frm which to choose and a vegetarian Wellington alongside organic vegetables.
